A contemporary aluminium and glass atrium designed to bring natural daylight, transparency and architectural continuity into a modern office environment in Kifisia, Athens.
Natural light as a central architectural element.
Mparolas Aluminium Systems delivered the aluminium and glazing solutions for the new GEA – E.F.P.S. offices in Kifisia, Athens, creating a bright and contemporary workspace centred around an extensive glass atrium and skylight.
The architectural concept uses daylight, transparency and large glazed surfaces to create a continuous visual relationship between the different areas of the office. The atrium becomes a defining architectural element, bringing natural light deep into the interior while reinforcing the openness of the workplace.
Advanced Europa aluminium systems were selected to combine clean minimal lines with thermal performance, watertightness, acoustic comfort and long-term reliability.
Transparency, daylight and minimal aluminium lines.
The atrium was conceived as more than a glazed roof. It forms an architectural connection between the interior spaces, introducing daylight while maintaining a clean and restrained visual language.
The aluminium structural grid was carefully integrated with large glazed surfaces to reduce visual interruption and create a bright, balanced working environment.
The combination of the atrium structure and the surrounding aluminium windows creates a consistent architectural identity throughout the project.

The Atrium Skylight for Office in Kifisia received a Silver Award at the Aluminium in Architecture Awards 2022 in recognition of the architectural quality of the project and the successful integration of aluminium systems within a demanding contemporary workplace.

The EAS 7000 system forms the architectural structure of the glass atrium, allowing extensive glazed surfaces while maintaining the clean structural rhythm required by the interior design.
Europa EOS 8500 Hybrid
EOS 8500 Hybrid aluminium windows complement the atrium system, combining thermal insulation with clean, contemporary frame proportions for the surrounding office openings.
Daylight without compromising indoor comfort.
The glazing specification was selected to maximise natural daylight while controlling solar energy and supporting the overall thermal performance of the office. Laminated internal glazing also contributes to safety and the robust construction required for the atrium.
A workspace shaped by natural light.
Large glazed surfaces allow daylight to penetrate deep into the building, reducing the visual separation between different working areas and creating a more open spatial experience.
The restrained aluminium profiles ensure that the architecture remains visually light, while the technical glazing specification supports thermal comfort and solar control throughout the year.
