Mparolas Aluminium Systems undertook the construction and installation of aluminium atriums with safety glazing for the Santorini Heart Hotel & Spa in Fira, Santorini.
The hotel is characterised by contemporary Cycladic architecture, clean geometric lines and a strong relationship between interior and exterior spaces.
The new glazed atriums were designed to provide protection and safety without compromising natural light, transparency or the open character of the hospitality environment.
A discreet intervention within a strong Cycladic identity.
White volumes, clean lines, swimming pools and intense Mediterranean light define the architectural character of the hotel.
The aluminium atriums therefore needed to remain visually lightweight and restrained, supporting the architecture rather than competing with it.
Large transparent surfaces and simple aluminium geometry maintain open views while introducing the protection required by the covered spaces below.

The main challenge was to cover and protect selected areas while maintaining the brightness, transparency and spatial openness that define the hotel environment. At the same time, the constructions needed to respond to the safety and durability requirements of a hospitality project in a coastal island setting.
